Kind of an obligatory shot, but the best I made of the moon to date.
Used Landscape setting in Canon DPP4 and reduced contrast a notch, cropped heavily in Windows Photo :-)

bigfarmer: Thanks Andy, Nature is not always cooperative :-) At the moment I am so busy I am almost solely shooting at night. The day after this shot the moon was just as bright but surrounded by clouds. To me that look even better pared with some branches. Unfortunately my combo of Canon EOS 1000D and EF-50mm f1.8 wouldn't focus at all, no matter what I did! Not even full auto. Well, you can't have it all :-)

andy-w: ... About focus... Put on manual focus and get it as close as you can by eye... Set your aperture to a few stops closed... f8 for example... Depth of focus will take care of any manual focus errors. Have a great weekend... Here is still rain / snow and clouds hahaha

bigfarmer: Thank you David. I just got a message from my mother saying: The moon!!! So I left my books for a moment and got real cold outside (a coat would have been wise), but was happy with this shot. In fact the first I took :-)

dareplanb1: Moon is great for losing weight. gravity... 100 kg at Earth is 16.6 on moon. that is very good reason for investing in space research...
