As you can see, I stayed in this spot longer than the 'few minutes' I told my wife I would be here if you've seen the other posted shots from this day. This one was lit with my head torch and I really enjoyed seeing all the stars come out! The details of the photo are: 1.6 second exposure f2.8 aperture ISO 1600 24mm with Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 zoom lens on my Nikon D810. #Landscape #Night #Scenic #Beach #Nikon

_marisol: You should put the text in each picture 'Quality guaranteed in the pictures' πŸ˜€ I think it was necessary to use a flashlight otherwise a big stone could have created a strong and disturbing contrast. Did you take this in the evening or in the morning?? I really love the sky and stars πŸ‘ My latest lake shot settings are; 30 sec at f2.8 & ISO 200, your ISO is 1600 which reveals this is really a pitch black place...be careful out there. Oh, the photo! πŸ˜€ I like that foreground! Zoomed in and found lots of intriguing details. Once again, you've done such a great job πŸ‘πŸ‘ Your pictures are always worth the wait. Have a great weekend Ian πŸ˜ƒπŸ’œπŸ’œ

_marisol: And congrats for the lens you mentioned! I'm thinking of buying a Sigma 30mm f1.4. That would be a great lens for star shooting and the night landscape shots like your work. Sigma is good value for money

ian.underthesea: @_marisol Thank-you! You are such an uplifting and positive person who brings this community to life πŸ€— This was taken in the evening and it was reasonably bright from the moon but I didn't want the stars to blur and needed the light as you say to see the rock. I hope you had a smashing weekend and thanks for your comment as always MarisolπŸ˜ŠπŸ™

ian.underthesea: Cheers Mel. I prefer the other ones taken earlier if I'm being honest but am still happy with this. You will enjoy the really wide angle ones coming soon πŸ€—πŸ“·
