Last week I visited the KGB museum which was located in the same hotel (Viru) where we stayed. The museum was just 2 floors up from our room and you had to go there along the stairs because the KGB had no elevator on their floor...damn, officially that floor never even existed! The KGB had 2 rooms, the 1st room was like an office and another room was some kind of technical space, most of the devices were in this room. About 12 people were in these small rooms at the same time with me so taking pictures was really tricky...people walking back'n forth in front of the camera etc. Iยดve read quite a lot of Cold War history and stories of former KGB agents, so I can tell you it was a really strange feeling to be in the same room where the actual KGB officers had spent about a decade! ๐Ÿ’€ The officers had to leave real quick one night in April 1991 after the declaration of independence of Estonia and they didnยดt have the time to take all the stuff with them, only the most secret folders and files. With this camera they took pictures through the wall, maybe behind the ventilation grille and other places like that. Remember, at that time there were no such mini cameras as we have today, therefore it looks a little clumsy. Looks like the serial number of the body says "N81054", in the Cyrillic alphabet the letter "N" is actually "H" and the Russians donยดt use the letter "N" written like this (am I confusing? ๐Ÿ˜€) that means that the camera and its body was possibly made in West. The underlying devices were like a central unit or servers, but I donยดt know what they really were, perhaps some kind of data processing equipment. More KGB stuff in the future. Anyone can ask me for the original files, just let me know and you got it! Have a great weekend (while waiting for Christmas ๐Ÿ˜ƒ).
